MY THREE-STEP DIY FALL WREATH

I love decorating for fall, I really do.  And I’m all about upcycling and DIY’s (as if you didn’t know).

But as I write this post, I have a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old who take up a LOT of time, energy, and money!

To balance that, everything else in life right now has to be less complicated – so, for the foreseeable future, my DIY home decor projects must be quick, budget-friendly, and easy!

A simple, 3-step DIY fall wreath is the perfect DIY “fix” I need to start bringing out the fall vibes in my home.

I had a few things in mind when planning out this wreath.  First, I knew I wanted a color scheme that would fit the rest of my fall front porch decor. I chose neutral, organic stems and pumpkins and kept a soft color palate with copper and cream hues.  I felt this went well with the natural wood tone and round-shaped beads of the wreath.

Second, I kept the spray design on the smaller side for a more modern look.  Using less floral materials also kept the wreath lightweight and was easier on the frame.  Not to mention buying fewer stems = spending less on these wreaths!

FYI beaded fall wreaths similar to this one are selling for $50-80 online!  But I made this two for around 25 bucks each…

MATERIALS

Pre-made wood bead wreath

Floral stems (always look for 50% days at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. or check out Dollar Tree’s selection)

Velvet pumpkin pick

Floral wire

Hot glue gun + glue

Ribbon or wire to hang (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Arrange floral components onto wreath by weaving the wires around the wreath core (it may be easier to strip the floral wires so that they are thinner and easier to wrap).
  1. Use hot glue to layer pumpkins in front and reinforce floral components.
  1. Attach ribbon or wire to the top and hang on your door for a festive DIY fall wreath!
