Hi, folks! Welcome to The Copper Goose!
About This Site
The Copper Goose was created as an attempt to share my home projects, crafts, and decorating ideas with others and also to network with the DIY-community who has inspired me so much. My background is not in design or textiles or photography – I’m just a regular girl with a love for antiques, crafts, and furniture makeovers. Here, I can share those ideas and experiences with others. My goal is to show others how to easily take on both simple and complex DIY projects and bring vintage style into their own homes.
About Me
My name is Sarah – I’m a wife, and mom to two boys (and two pups). I’m a proud Kentucky native. Professionally, I’m an occupational therapist practicing with the special needs community but my time off is spent diving into DIY projects like furniture makeovers, handmade décor, and upcycling vintage items for my own home. I sell my furniture projects locally via The Copper Goose Gathering Co. and also sell vintage and antique items on my online store. When I’m not waist-deep in a project, I am at my happiest when I’m with my family and my dogs, and spending time outdoors (preferably all at once)!
About the Name
“The Copper Goose” is named after my two best buds – Copper the hound dog and Lucy “Goose.” These two rescue pups have been around for a while and have joined in life’s many journeys. Lucy Goose is the most tenacious dog I’ve ever seen. She lives to play fetch and will go nuts for some steak bits with her dinner. Copper is a gentle soul and snuggle-muffin with a mild obsession for chasing after birds any chance he gets. I’m sure you’ll see plenty of photos of them scattered throughout my posts!
