These 5 fall table settings are simple and stylish, and I’ve included a shopping list for each to make it even easier to get the same look!
TABLE SETTING INSPIRATION
Autumn decorating is all about warm colors, texture, and layering. These three elements work together to bring a cohesive look to any tablescape or individual centerpiece or place setting.
I like to incorporate thrifted and vintage items, like mix-and-match antique flatware into my tablescapes or buy items on sale to keep my decorating budget-friendly. Get creative with adding a fall centerpiece to blend with your favorite setting, and if all else fails, stack some neutral pumpkins for an easy centerpiece!

FALL TABLE SETTING #1: RUSTIC CHARM
This table setting is all about balance. It’s rustic without being too “farmhouse-y” and blends nicely with any fall color scheme. I think a centerpiece of vintage amber glass bottles filled with the same sprigs of wheat and some stacked pumpkins would look great with this setting.
Shopping List:
- Orange placemats – I thrifted mine, but these have the same round shape and burnt orange color that I love.
- Brushed gold charger
- Gray stoneware plates
- Neutral, striped cloth napkins – mine are no longer sold by Hearth and Hand, however, Joanna Gaines hasn’t changed her style too much, so the current line has these napkins that are similar
- Wheat sprigs
- Brushed gold flatware
FALL TABLE SETTING #2: LAYERING NEUTRALS
I love this set because it uses a neutral color palate with a hint of dusty, sage green – the same shade as Jarrahdale pumpkins, which would look amazing as a centerpiece to match this setting!
Shopping List:
- Round, hyacinth placemats
- Galvanized metal charger
- White, beaded plates
- Green cloth napkins – I bought mine at Pier 1 before they moved to an all-online platform, but these sage cloth napkins are the closest I could find.
- Greenery napkin rings
- Faux mini-pumpkins
- Vintage silverware – check out shops like this one on Etsy if you can’t source vintage flatware locally!
FALL TABLE SETTING #3: BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL TEXTURES
This setting is my favorite and will go in my breakfast room! It’s eclectic and bold and full of texture, which I love. The hunter-green placemats and leather chargers
Shopping List:
- Tassel placemats – I purchased mine on clearance from Kirkland’s, but these placemats give the same chic vibe.
- Leather chargers
- Plaid cloth napkins – my set was a gift, but this set and this one have the same color scheme
- Green ceramic dinnerplate
- Brushed gold flatware
- Faux leather tags (“Grateful”)
FALL TABLE SETTING #4: NAVY BLUE AND JUTE
There’s no color more classic than navy blue and I think it matches perfectly with ivory and faded, pastel orange for a unique fall color scheme. The jute placemats offer texture and again, I’ve paired them with vintage silverware (mix-match forks, spoons, and knives for a more eclectic, casual look).
Shopping List:
- Square Jute placemats
- Navy ceramic plate
- Checked cloth napkins– mine are handmade, but these are great choices, too!
- “Thankful” beaded hanger – I used this as a napkin ring.
- Vintage silverware – again, try Etsy or eBay for some great deals!
FALL TABLE SETTING #5: THE HALLOWEEN SPECIAL
Okay, this one is specific to October, but I had to include at least one dark, gothic setting for those of us who decorate for Halloween and “fall” separately. The floral skull is the star of the show (see the easy DIY tutorial here), and all-black dinnerware and flatware keep with the moody vibe. I also love the contrast between the colorful flowers and dark dinnerware and placemat.
Shopping List:
- Black “snakeskin” placemats
- Galvanized metal charger
- Black dinnerplate
- Black stainless steel flatware
- Cloth napkin
- Mini plastic skulls (hollow)
- Mini floral stems and feathers
